Yuei came to us as a bright, high-achieving student who wanted to ensure that he was doing everything he could to maximise his chances of getting into a good university, and into his dream career in finance.
For Yuei, it’s always about the ‘hustle’ - while working on his schooling during the pandemic, he started buying and selling collectible baseball caps, and then training shoes - eventually he earned enough capital to buy and sell games consoles, and by the end of his journey with us had raised enough capital to build and let out two tower blocks in his home town.
His academic work was always intended to be a companion to his entrepreneurship, and this meant that his grades (and supercurriculars) were not where they needed to be when he decided that his future as a business leader would be enhanced by an economics degree from a leading London university. Yuei had a supportive family, and knew something about what would be needed, but knew that in life, there are very few second chances, and he wanted to get his university journey right, from the beginning.
While he had an incredible range of practical experience, leading universities are primarily concerned with academic strengths. We put together a detailed plan for Yuei, outlining what opportunities he should take advantage of, and when - and through the support of our professional education team, Yuei was able to build an impressive profile of externally-audited academic achievements and boost his exam grades considerably.
We were delighted to see him begin his degree at the London School of Economics, though as he said at the time “It’s just the next part of the hustle.”
