Race Equality Charter
We are proud to commit to Advance HE’s Race Equality Charter, which aims to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education. It provides a framework through which institutions work to self-reflect on institutional and cultural barriers standing in the way of minority ethnic staff and students and have their commitment to and progress in removing these barriers recognised.

Athena Swan
Spyglass also adheres to the Athena Swan Charter, a framework which is used across the globe to support and transform gender equality within higher education and research. Established in 2005 to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment, the Charter is now used to address gender inequality more broadly, and not just barriers to progression that affect women.

University Mental Health Charter
While we aren’t a university, all of us have considerable teaching and admissions experience within the university sector, and we have brought with us (and maintain) our adherence to the University Mental Health Charter. An individual’s mental health and wellbeing is influenced by a variety of factors, such as their genetics, learned behaviours, social context, and environmental context. The University Mental Health Charter calls for organisations to consciously consider their influence over these factors and proactively create environments that promote wellbeing.
